Full Job Description

As an autonomous practitioner in a CDC and cancer centre, you will develop and deliver a high quality specialist ultrasound service alongside our radiologists and physicists. You will be able to show evidence of participating in peer-review audit and have an excellent knowledge of current legislation and guidelines. You will ensure sound clinical governance of the service, including audit.

Due to the expansion of the Radiology service at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre an exciting opportunity has arisen for additional Band 7 sonographers to join our Radiology team. You would be based at our Liverpool city centre sites, predominantly at the CDC facility with some cover on occasion at the main hospital site close by. The workload will be varied to include oncology and non-oncology scanning.

The Radiology service is QSI accredited at our Wirral site we are in working toward accreditation at our main Liverpool site., The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is one of three specialist cancer centres in England. With 1,800 specialist staff and three sites, we are one of the largest NHS providers of non-surgical cancer treatment. The Trust has a unique multi-site care model serving the 2.4 million population across Cheshire and Merseyside and is consistently rated by patients as one of the best performing hospitals.
