Underwriting Assistant

In this role, you will play a critical part in the underwriting process of Cyber and Technology risk by proactively supporting its preparation and ensuring smooth operations. You will develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and brokers, becoming a trusted peer and key point of contact. Your ability to deliver efficient and effective underwriting support will directly contribute to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with other functions to ensure timely and accurate policy administration, making a tangible impact on the overall success and efficiency of our underwriting operations. Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• Support the underwriting of new and renewal accounts, preparing all documentation and completion of underwriting tools
• Proactively prepare relevant underwriting information including client/market research and claims data
• Handle document management for the team
• Ensure that all systems are updated accurately and in a timely fashion
• Conduct analyses of the portfolio data, to support strategic decisions for the team
• Assist in ensuring contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at the time of inception
• Liaise with other functions e.g. Operations, Credit Control, and Claims
• Develop and maintain peer relationships with brokers, clients, and the Underwriting teams
  
  You have a degree in Economics, Law, or a related discipline or you are progressing towards a professional insurance qualification.
• You possess a robust understanding of the policy administration lifecycle, including information collection, policy issuance, premium bookings, credit control, and cancellation.
• You can design, develop, and implement consistent and robust policy wordings.
• You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• You can absorb, analyze, and interpret complex information, drawing appropriate conclusions.
• You are proficient in MS Excel, Word, and other computer skills.
• You embrace agile working to adapt to internal and external customer needs.
• You are fluent in English.
