Full Job Description

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a uniformed protective services teacher on a permanent basis, working 28 hours per week. A part time hourly paid position will also be considered. You will be part of a highly successful team of dedicated vocational staff within out Law, Justice and Protective Services section and responsible for delivering uniformed protective services at L2 and L3 to our Law, Justice and Protective Services students at Nelson and Colne College and Accrington and Rossendale College. In particular, the vocational programme aims to:

  • Provide a curriculum that has close links with employers to enable students to aim high and achieve the extraordinary.
  • To ensure the provision of a high-quality vocational offer to support learners into exciting and high achieving careers via higher education or employment.
  • To ensure a strong focus on adding value, realising aspirations and equipping students with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to progress onto their next steps.
  • To provide students with the opportunity to develop wider skills including communication, teamwork, leadership and awareness as a global citizen.
  • The successful candidate will be primarily based at Nelson but will be required to travel to our Accrington site to deliver lessons. This post could suit an experienced practitioner looking for their next challenge, a newly qualified teacher looking to make their mark within an Outstanding organisation, or a talented aspiring trainee teacher looking for support with their teaching qualification, especially those coming from relevant industry such as the police or armed forces.   • Plan, deliver and assess Uniformed Protective Services at L2 and L3.
  • Support learners in their academic journey and also as a pastoral tutor.
  • To develop the wider knowledge, skills and behaviours for their next steps
  • To widen their cultural capital via extra-curricular opportunities such as trips, fitness or visiting speakers.

  • An enthusiastic and knowledgeable uniformed protective services lecturer who can deliver outstanding teaching, learning and support to learners.
