Full Job Description

We are looking for an excellent, caring leader who will take charge of one of the floors within Midland Care home. The successful candidate will work alongside the Home Manager to oversee safe care treatment of the residents and work towards a CQC good rating. This is an excellent next step for an experienced Team Leader or a Deputy Manager previously and will give you the opportunity to join our new management team and put your excellent and forward thinking skills into practice.
The overall role - The Manager of a unit that looks after between 20 and 25 elderly residents who require long time care ensuring their care, social needs and requests exceed expectations. You will also be Line Manager to a group of around 15 staff. Your professionalism, kind and caring nature along with experience in managing a team will shine through.

Duties include:
Induction, regular assessments and supervisions on staff and Staff meetings
Promoting person centred care and Creating a pleasant working environment that inspires the team.
Return to work meetings
Resident reviews and implementation and care plan reviews.
Resident and family meetings.
Audits ( 4 per month plus the actions raised from it)
Delegating tasks to team members and Empowering team members with skills to improve their confidence, product knowledge, and communication skills.
The post is full time including every third weekend where you will be Duty Manager and in charge of the whole home.

Knowledge of Community Care Act, Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.
Minimum 1 year experience in managing a unit/ward of elderly people and/or mentally ill.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels. QCF/NVQ level 3 OR equivalent.
Satisfactory enhanced DBS Check and where applicable a check against the DBS First List.
Ability to prioritise workloads and to supervise and direct other staff.
Honesty, consideration, empathy and patience.
Desired:
QCF/NVQ level 4 (Team leader) OR equivalent.
Current registration and PIN number with NMC.
Previous experience of working in a similar role with the relevant Client group.
Willingness to undergo further extensive training to improve knowledge and care standards within the home.
