Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Surgical senior nursing team at Mid Yorkshire NHS Teaching Trust, as the Unit Manager of Gate 34 at Pinderfields General Hospital.

Gate 34 is a 38 bedded acute ward delivering care predominantly for urology and gynaecology patients. Gate 34 also provide care for patients from outlying specialities when required. Gate 34 provides pre and post operative care as well as conservative management of patients.

The Surgical Division will be recruiting a highly motivated and innovative experienced senior nurse. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a flexible approach to improving patient outcomes. A proven ability to work in collaboration with a range of clinicians / managers across differing Clinical Divisions is essential. We are looking for an inclusive leader who values development across the team and supporting health & well-being.

The successful candidate will join the current senior team to continue to progress development of the service. Gate 34 is a well-established ward which has a forward-thinking workforce who embrace change to enhance the experience of their patients.

You will be working collectively with the leadership team, have professional accountability and responsibility for the delivery of high-quality clinical care.

Through clinical leadership, knowledge and demonstrating of the Trusts core values will ensure that the ward/department team is informed, trained, and developed to enable care to be delivered to patients. This will be achieved through appropriate deployment and supervision of staff, education and professional development.
