Full Job Description

The main responsibilities of this role are to support Medical Information and Communications activities and other projects within the Medical Affairs department. The role will work within the Medical Affairs Transformation and Operations (MATO) team which sits within the Medicine department. This team is responsible for leading operational excellence and driving innovative external scientific engagement to support the appropriate clinical adoption of our medicines and help drive advancements in healthcare. There are several teams working within MATO - this role will mainly work within the Medical Information and Communications team but may support other teams within MATO and the wider Medical Affairs department. The main duties are:

  • Handling medical information enquiries from external sources - healthcare professionals and members of the public.
  • Maintaining up-to-date medical information standard responses and FAQs.
  • Supporting medical digital communications.
  • Reviewing medical materials for scientific accuracy.
  • Assisting with Medical Affairs process management and maintenance.
  • Supporting other defined operational projects and activities., You will gain a rounded experience of Medical Information and Medical Affairs services and in-depth knowledge of the regulatory environment that we operate within.
  • You will work within a supportive team, learning from colleagues with extensive experience across a range of Pharmaceutical, scientific and health service disciplines.
  • You will interact with and learn from cross functional teams including Customer Services, Patient Safety & Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory, Clinical Development & Operations, Compliance and Marketing teams.
  • You will have the opportunity to create value for our customers and patients by providing information and supporting activities that ensure our medicines are prescribed and used appropriately.
  • You will gain experience across a broad range of therapy areas and across the full medicine lifecycle - investigational medicines in development, newly launched products and others that have been marketed for several years.

    Applicants will be studying for a BSc Biology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry or other Biological Sciences degree.
  • 3 A levels at grade BBC (minimum) with at least one grade coming from a science subject.
  • Applicants must have the ability for independent travel to work and other sites.
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to review medical literature and clinical trial data and summarise key points.
  • Good understanding of general medical terminology and ability to gain a deeper understanding of specific medical concepts through proactive self-learning.
  • Able to build and maintain relationships to collaborate cross-functionally, ensuring efficient execution of Medical Information tasks and projects.
