Applications are invited for this prestigious post, which offers advanced training and experience in all aspects of upper limb surgery. The post would be most suitable for a trainee with CCT or a year 6 orthopaedic trainee, with FRCS (Orth) or equivalent, Full GMC Registration with a licence to practise and with a special interest in knee surgery. These are 12 month appointments however candidates who are interested in a 6 month post may also be considered. Please can you also preference with regards to start dates if you are considering a 6 month post.
The post is based at the prestigious Royal Derby Hospital, incorporated within University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. The Orthopaedic Department at the Royal Derby Hospital has a long history of Orthopaedic innovation and excellence. This thriving department boasts world renowned and leading Orthopaedic Surgeons., The Trauma and Orthopaedics Unit at Royal Derby comprises 8 purpose-built state of the art laminar flow theatres as well as dedicated outpatient clinic facilities for both Trauma and Elective patients. As one of the largest Orthopaedic Departments in the country, the full spectrum of upper limb surgery is performed in Derby. The hospital has a state of the art postgraduate training library and a variety of teaching and clinical audit sessions occur throughout each month. The Royal Derby Hospital runs regular teaching sessions and is committed to career progression and furthering education.
