Upper School Spanish Teacher

ACS International Schools are seeking a Spanish Teacher to work at our Cobham campus in Surrey, UK. The teacher will be required to teach Spanish to students of varying skills and ability, ages 16-18, following the IB/AP curricula. Our diverse and inclusive student body is made up of 70 different nationalities. We offer boarding to over 100 Middle, Upper and High school students. Knowledge, skills, and experience required:
• Bachelor's degree/Bachelor of Education
• A teaching qualification (PGCE/QTS/Teaching licence/certification or equivalent)
• 2 or more years of post qualifying relevant teaching experience
• Strong IT skills, preferably with Apple products
• Demonstrates consistently high standards of personal and professional conduct
• Fluent in English both verbal and written
• Significant experience and willingness to integrate technology to improve teaching and learning
• Experience of teaching in an international school is desirable but not essential.
Accountabilities:
• Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students in a safe learning environment, rooted in mutual respect
• Plan and teach well-structured engaging lessons, adapting teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all students
• Promote student progress and outcomes, assess and provide feedback
• Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop teaching and learning resources for students at different levels
• Promote a love of learning
• Offer help to all students who need additional learning support, working with Resource teachers, including EAL and learning differences specialists, to support students with specific learning needs
• Undertake training, keep up-to-date on requirements and work as an advisor in the Pastoral Care programme, overseeing the day-to-day wellbeing of students to identify any student issues, problem-solving with the pastoral care team as required, liaising with parents/carers
• Participate in the extra-curricular programme
• Support with other duties to assist with the smooth running of the school.
