Full Job Description

Building on the success of work in Australia and Wales, Roundabout is delighted to bring the Upstream Service to Sheffield!

This is an exciting new schools-based service for Roundabout, which is being funded by the Royal Foundation's Homewards Programme!

The Upstream Manager will play a crucial role in Roundabout's work to prevent youth homelessness, by ensuring effective delivery of Roundabout's pre-16 prevention pilot in secondary schools in Sheffield. They will work closely with participating schools to ensure the Upstream survey is completed by young people, and undertake comprehensive assessments of the needs and risks of individual young people identified by the survey.

Based on these assessments, the Upstream Manager will ensure one-to-one advice and support is provided, and refer young people to suitable support services, drawing on a diverse range of partner services, including family mediation, mental health support and school based programmes.

The Upstream Manager will provide line management to a team of 5 Upstream Project Workers focusing on casework, reviews and safeguarding of the children and families that the team are working with. They will coordinate multi-agency case meetings and work across all schools to ensure that the work is able to be undertaken, leading on the coordination with a range of stakeholders of the project.

Robust monitoring and evaluation data will need to be collected by the Upstream Manager to demonstrate the impact of the service on young people's outcomes and reporting requirements for funders.

Key Accountabilities

Work closely with schools to administer the Upstream survey to secondary school children aged 11-16, ensuring adherence to GDPR and ethics requirements.

Support the Project Workers s to conduct, comprehensive needs and risk assessments with young people flagged as 'at risk' by the Upstream survey.

Provide line management to a team of 5 Project Workers, including case reviews, case management and safeguarding.

Organise and chair regular multi-agency meetings across Sheffield with the aim of increasing referrals and support to other organisations.

Manage partnerships with local delivery partners, including ensuring that partnership agreements and contracts are adhered to.

Collect monitoring data and produce reports to funders, schools and external evaluators.

Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of safeguarding. Work closely with partner agencies to ensure that any safeguarding issues are identified, risks are addressed wherever possible and that safeguarding referrals are made where necessary.

Create an outcomes-focused environment that recognises hard and soft outcomes suitable to the individual. Create a culture that embraces diversity and consistently celebrates positive progress towards individual goals.

Regularly and actively seek feedback from young people about the service and use this insight to inform pilot delivery and development.
