Full Job Description
We're looking for an Urban Rewilding Programme Officer to help deliver the largest urban rewilding project in the UK - our Allestree Park Community Rewilding project - which aims to provide a haven for both people and wildlife in the heart of Derby. You'll use your communication, passion, and planning skills to support the creation of a rich and accessible greenspace that will make significant contributions to nature recovery, climate action and wellbeing., We're committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and believe that everyone should have access to nature. As a small charity, our employees need to be willing to be flexible about working arrangements and willing to provide occasional cover for absent staff. This role might be right for you if:
- You are dynamic, organised and focused on achieving goals.
- You have experience of preparing and delivering management plans and supporting monitoring and evaluation programmes to support project delivery.
- You have practical hands-on experience of land management for nature conservation and able to work effectively and safely with volunteers.
- You are a great communicator and able to inspire others with your enthusiasm and energy and can work collaboratively with a wide range of partners and audiences.
- You can contribute to fund raising and write grant applications to support our project delivery.
- You are a conscientious budget holder, managing spend efficiently and always making environmentally conscious decisions on spend.
- You have a full driving licence or ability to travel around the work area.
In this role, you'll lead on the nature recovery aspects of the Allestree Park Community Rewilding project and help deliver the wider urban landscape recovery programme. To be successful you will be dedicated to placing people at the heart of nature and climate recovery in our urban landscapes. This is a fixed term contract to 31st March 2027.
