The Band 7 candidate must have a recognised qualification, training and experience as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner or similar if AHP. Trainee ENPs must already be undertaking or completing a recognised Minor Injuries Course Injuries (that includes X Ray interpretation) and be prepared to undertake further training in post. Applicants are welcome to apply from those professional groups eligible to undertake non-medical prescribing under current statutory regulations. The successful candidate should possess a strong desire to develop themselves to deliver outstanding care helping to develop the advanced practice strategy within the Trust. The post holder is required to take a complete history and perform clinical examination, to diagnose and implement treatment for patients presenting with varied conditions. The post holder is also required to be able to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment and discharge patients or refer to a specialist as necessary. As an autonomous practitioner, the post holder will work within their scope of practice and according to broad local policies and procedures. The post holder must be proactive in promoting health and well-being to patients and give health advice and education, and act as a mentor and to other staff members and nursing students. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Scarborough Urgent Treatment Centre team based at Scarborough Hospital, part of York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The role is open to a suitably qualified ENP at Band 7.
