Full Job Description

Role Overview: The Urogynaecology Nurse is responsible for delivering specialized care within diagnostic clinics, supporting patients with pelvic floor disorders, such as urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. The nurse will play a key role in performing diagnostic tests, interpreting results, and developing individualized care plans. This role requires close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic and patient-centered care.Key Responsibilities: Patient Assessment & Diagnostics:Conduct comprehensive assessments, including medical history review and symptom evaluation. Perform diagnostic procedures such as urodynamic studies, bladder scanning, and pelvic floor assessments. Interpretation of Results:Analyze and interpret diagnostic results to aid in the diagnosis and management of urogynaecological conditions, reporting findings to the multidisciplinary team. Patient Education & Counseling:Educate patients on their condition, treatment options, and
self-management strategies, including bladder training, pelvic floor exercises, and lifestyle modifications. Care Planning & Implementation:Collaborate with consultants, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans, ensuring alignment with clinical guidelines. Pre- and Post-Operative Support:Provide guidance to patients preparing for and recovering from urogynaecological surgery, ensuring they understand their care plans and post-operative instructions. Follow-Up & Monitoring:Conduct follow-up assessments to monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to optimize outcomes. Collaboration & Multidisciplinary Work:Work closely with the multidisciplinary team, including urogynaecologists, continence advisors, and physiotherapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care. Record-Keeping & Documentation:Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with NHS policies and standards of care.
