Full Job Description

The posts will cover an acute and elective inpatient service at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and a day case and outpatient service across both Huddersfield and Halifax. This is a Full-Time post providing 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) consitsting of some flexible PA sessions, but applicants wishing to work part-time are also encouraged to apply and job plans will be adjusted accordingly, and by negotiation with appointees

The post is ideal for a consultants urologist experienced in laparoscopic and robotic surgery or working towards. Primarily based at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary there is an expectancy to travel across sites during oncall or elective work.

The urology unit procedures a comprehensive service covering all aspects of urology surgery for cancer and benign diseases and plans to improve further pathways within our urology diagnostic unit.

The post is ideal for urologist who are keen to explore new innovative improvements within the service and have an interest and active role in teaching.

There is a strong focus on career development and professional support within a forward-thinking and supportive urology department.

If yes, then this post is for you. We are looking for a substantive Consultant in Urology to join us within the General Surgery Directorate at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust

The Department of Urology seeks to appointment a consultant urologist to join our existing team of 6 consultants and 6 specialty doctors.

This post is permanent and we would welcome applicantsexperienced in laparoscopic and Robotic upper tract urological procedures.

The Trust and NHS is facing a time of transformation, challenge and opportunity. The Urology team is developing its service as part of GIRFT recommendations , introducing new ways of working and to further develop its urology diagnostic unit., We employ more than 6,500 staffwho deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals,Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as well as in community sites, healthcentres and in patients' homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT.

We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children's and young people's services; end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.

We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres. These include Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza.
