Full Job Description

During this 12-month internship you will be reporting to the User Research lead and Design lead. You will work in a small, agile team tasked with providing actionable customer insights to inform the design of our flagship CAD software. You will involve yourself in quantitative and qualitative research such as usability testing, interviews, surveys, reviewing analytics and more along with other user researchers. Whilst you will closely work alongside Product Designers, your work will solely focus on the user research activities of the product design and development process.,

  • 12-month internship with clearly defined milestones to build your user research skills (e.g. building personas, running usability testing and interviews) but also get you familiar with our CAD software and the wider CAD industry. You will also be closely working and supported by the UR lead.
  • You will receive a salary, and all the benefits of any full time Siemens employee
  • Ideally looking for a candidate who is available from early June
  • This job is primarily remote (applicant must be located in the UK), but will include some travel (e.g. roughly every 12 weeks a two-day meet up - travel will be paid for by the company (unless you are locally based))
  • You will be provided with all the technical set up required to successfully accomplish your job

Are you a recent graduate or postgraduate looking to start your career as a user researcher with a focus on enterprise applications? Are you ready to help change the perception that enterprise applications are not user friendly, complicated to learn and hard to master?
  • Your degree should contain a high level of human behaviour content, and you should have an exceptional curiosity about looking beyond what people say and explore what they actually do. You should be a naturally curious person, who goes above and beyond to represent the needs of our users. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for you to develop the skills for a career as a user researcher and provides you the chance to work directly with a committed team on high impact projects in an exciting and varied environment.,
  • Understanding of user research and a desire to specialise in UX Research.
  • A passion for understanding people, user needs and their behaviours.
  • Keen interest and ideally good knowledge of the study of human behaviour.
  • An applied understanding of a variety of research methods (e.g. interviews, usability testing, surveys, data analysis, etc).
  • Experience in the analysis of large sets of quantitative and/or qualitative data (both is a plus).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills that allow you to present data in an understandable, simplified and concise way both visually and verbally.
  • An interest in Software design
  • A knowledge of any of the following would be desirable:
  • Agile software development
  • Design thinking approaches
  • 3D CAD systems
