Full Job Description

As a User Researcher, you will be part of a high-performing, multi-disciplinary squad using agile methodologies to deliver user-centric services. You will be responsible for ensuring our discovery and design projects are rooted in a deep understanding of users and their needs enabling us to create accessible services that reduce friction and complexity. What you'll be doing:

  • Identify research needs and select the most appropriate research methods for a project.
  • Plan, write, and present research plans that outline study goals and methodology.
  • Carry out user research activities, for example: preparing discussion guides, creating information-gathering artifacts, and running and moderating user research sessions.
  • Engage in meaningful interactions and relationships with users via in-depth interviews, workshop facilitation, and ethnographic research techniques.
  • Analyze findings from all types of research, including data, to generate meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Synthesize research findings using appropriate tools and work closely with cross-functional teams to translate them into user stories.
  • Visualize through diagramming, journey mapping, storyboarding, or information design to help others see the end-to-end and surface-to-core service and customer experience.
  • Present actionable insights and learnings to stakeholders in the most appropriate way, including presentations, communicating with clarity and confidence to create actionable strategic insights and service improvements.

    Work experience as a User Researcher (UX), from public services directly or via consultancy firms and agencies or organisations where research has been critical in facilitating data-driven business decisions
  • Proven ability to design and execute an effective research plan that delivered on the objectives
  • Excellent presentation skills, meaning you can deliver actionable insights and make clear recommendations while considering the interests and existing knowledge of your audience
  • Ability to work well alongside a multi-disciplinary team and with stakeholders from different departments, disciplines, and backgrounds
  • Experience in government sector and having an active SC clearance is highly preferable
