Full Job Description
- Managing a specialist team to provide expert guidance on USS scheme rules and pension legislation.
- Leading the delivery of efficient, accurate pension services, including handling complex cases such as ill-health or retirement.
- Representing the University in external advisory panels and collaborating with senior stakeholders.
- Providing technical advice on pension and taxation complexities to senior staff.
Professional pensions qualification (e.g., PMI) or equivalent experience. - Expertise in pension administration and HMRC regulations.
- Ability to manage legislative changes affecting pension schemes.
- Strong customer service focus and communication skills.
- Proven experience in leading, motivating, and developing a team.
- Skilled in managing complex workloads with effective prioritisation. Desirable:
- Experience in higher education or similar organisations.
- Knowledge of USS scheme rules and procedures.

In this key leadership role, you will manage the administration of the University's USS pension scheme, supporting over £120m in annual contributions. You'll ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, deliver high-quality service to members, and implement strategic improvements to processes and systems.
