Full Job Description

You will facilitate and assist the SRO Procurement & Commercial Management Teams in the delivery of essential supplier work streams necessary to effectively support the SRO call-off contracts and internal Framework agreements in connection with major infrastructure projects. Take full responsibility for raising purchase orders, ensuring suppliers are paid within the correct time frame, receipting goods and services across the SRO portfolio. Day to day duties include:

Functional Requirements:

+ Assist and support the SRO Procurement & Commercial Management Teams in strategic development and delivery process of the Business Partner call-off contracts (Programme, Design & Construction) projects.
+ Completing set tasks within strict timeframes to deliver best value to Thames Water.
+ Engage positively with the procurement and commercial teams and the wider delivery team.

Communication:

+ Assist in the preparation of well-structured documents and presentations for the procurement and commercial management teams.
+ Build a trusting relationship with the procurement and commercial management teams and the wider working delivery team.
+ Take responsibility for the set task and deliver the outcome to the best of your ability.
+ Influence where possible the best solution for delivering a particular task, e.g. use flow chart in lieu of written report.

Data Information:

+ Knowledge of how to efficiently gather information and who to liaise within the wider working delivery team to successfully complete set tasks.
+ Work with the wider delivery team to identify useful sources of information to ensure your own abilities in meeting delivery requirements.

Process:

+ Ability to understand how set tasks and deliverables fit into the wider project delivery requirements.
+ Maintain a healthy work life balance in meeting the challenges set.

+ Experience working in a team environment liaising with professionals to deliver individual tasks
+ Basic understanding of the standard industry contract structure Client, Consultant and suppliers associated with each contract.
+ Good ability to transfer task requirements into a step-by-step solution.
+ Previous experience using SAP.
+ Excellent Microsoft Office skill set, particularly word, excel and power point applications
+ Self-motivated individual with ability to understand processes and work under pressure.
+ Interpersonal skills, with the ability to demonstrate to team members the confidence to meet challenges
+ Previous experience and understanding of purchasing and invoicing.
+ Demonstrates positive behaviours aligned to the Thames Water Values.
+ Show a willingness to seek for ideas or intelligence from outside the immediate team whilst build relationships TW accounts invoicing and purchasing teams to understand processes, constraints to ensure invoices are progressed in a timely manner.
+ Proactive in resolving potential difficulties and overcoming barriers.

We have an exciting requirement for a Commercial Support Officer to join Thames Water in the delivery of the strategic regional water resources solutions, including Strategic Regional Options (SROs). This role provides an opportunity to develop a career and participate in projects which are deemed to be leading edge for the water industry and are critical to ensuring the long-term availability of water supplies for our customers.

Ofwat has allocated funds for water companies to investigate and develop 17 integrated SROs during 2020-25. The funding will enable companies to develop solutions on behalf of customers that are 'construction ready' for the 2025-2030 period, and that protect and enhance the environment and benefit wider society. Thames Water is engaged in five schemes, four of which are to be managed jointly between multiple water companies. The SROs are a key input into the regional Water Resources South East (WRSE) and Water Resources Management Plan (WRMP24) investment programmes.
