Full Job Description
The role of a Value Stream Planner at S+N involves both long & short term planning within a lean manufacturing environment. We're looking for someone who's comfortable with lean principles, and is adept at using visual management tools to optimise production and minimise inventory. You'll have the opportunity to have a big impact on how we plan within manufacturing as you will collaborate with schedulers, engineers, team leaders, and quality personnel to drive continuous improvement and achieve our KPI's, whilst reviewing and feeding back information to key areas as we continuously improve. What will you be doing? You'll be creating and maintaining production schedules, managing orders, and ensuring smooth operations. You'll work closely with various teams to solve supply challenges, keep production on track and support new product launches. In this role you'll be on top of daily and weekly production schedules to ensure we meet customer needs efficiently, whist converting planned orders into actionable tasks to hit our production targets. You'll also get involved with the following :
- Keep our planning tables in SAP up-to-date and release shop orders on time for warehouse picking.
- Ensure materials flow smoothly into the production line and handle the removal of returns and waste.
- Work with manufacturing and Material Planners to adjust schedules and set priorities.
- Collaborate on the introduction of new materials and phase out old ones.
- Provide accurate updates on how well we're sticking to our weekly schedules.
- Participate in projects aimed at improving our planning and scheduling processes.
- Refine our systems and processes to better anticipate supply challenges and reduce costs.
- Help develop long-term plans for capacity, inventory, and material management.
- Assist in balancing supply and demand.
- Collaborate with Value Streams to review capacity and support order fulfilment.
- Develop and track cost and service metrics as needed. You'll also work closely with our factory operatives to plan execution and have a regular presence on the shop floor, regularly participating in Tier meetings. What will you need to be successful? Our team values innovation, efficiency, and collaboration - these values will play a huge part in your success. You should have a strong understanding of supply chain systems, lean principles, and how planning impacts financial and operational targets. We value proactive problem solvers who can see the bigger picture and contribute to our continuous improvement efforts, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for optimising processes!
