Are you a proactive, collaborative and compassionate individual with a proven record of providing support, advice and advocacy and communicating effectively the needs of clients to other professionals? Do you have substantial experience of assessing the needs of children and young people who are at risk of significant harm. If so, join St Giles as a Caseworker working on our vital Vanguard project. This is an NHS-funded initiative set up as part of the work of NHS London's Violence Reduction Initiative aimed at under 25s who may be involved in or at risk of youth violence and have mental health or well-being issues that they may find hard to acknowledge and hard to find appropriate support for. About this exciting opportunity Working within the St Giles Vanguard project team, our successful candidate will help to support children and young people up to 25, who are affected by violence and exploitation and who may benefit from support around mental health. You will work closely with clinical colleagues to complete initial needs assessments with young people and support them to develop individual action plans and regularly review them to assess progress, while also producing support and risk management plans based on assessments. We will count on you to develop and maintain relationships with referral agencies and other stakeholders, to liaise closely with other St Giles teams with reference to referrals and avoiding duplication, plus develop and maintain an up-to-date and accurate resource for suitable onward referrals. Delivering a holistic support service that will see you provide a practical service including social support, accompanying to appointments, education and training options is also a key aspect of this role., Please note we're not responsible for the content of job ads, as they're posted by the recruiter. - Personal experience of the criminal justice system, lived experience of the issues facing this client group and/or experience of working with 'high risk', vulnerable children, young people and/or families
- Experience working as part of a multi-agency team to achieve positive outcomes for young people
- Experience of using support plans to enable people to successfully access support services
- Substantial experience of engaging successfully with 'challenging' young people
- A relevant qualification to a good standard or be working towards one
- A knowledge of relevant services for young people and their families in the service provision area
