With a fast-growing provision Adult Education in Gloucestershire are looking for an Employability Tutor within the Community and Family Learning Team. You will develop and implement Employability courses for adults, which cover personal social development, CV writing, interview skills, application form writing and sector specific courses such as hospitality, customer service, health and social care, business admin and work-related programmes.

  • This role will require travelling across Gloucestershire covering Gloucester, Stroud, Tewkesbury, Cheltenham, Forest of Dean and Cotswolds, so access to a vehicle is essential. All mileage will be reimbursed. You will work under direct supervision of the Delivery Manager and Learning co-ordinators to support the Service in the effective delivery of programmes in each curriculum area, ensuring compliance with quality standards.

    This role will initially be a variable hours tutor on the temporary staff service placement, with a view that once the probationary period has successfully passed, the role will be converted into a fixed term contract role. Hours are variable to begin with, then once on the fixed term contract fixed hours will be assigned based on the needs of the service.

    To be successful you will need excellent organisational skills to allow you to prioritise workloads and ensure our quality standards are maintained. We also need your customer-focused nature to help build relationships with our learners and stakeholders.,
  • MUST have a minimum level 3 teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching adults from different backgrounds and abilities

  • Passionate about widening participation by helping adults to overcome barriers to learning and employment


  • Desirable Criteria:
  • Access to a vehicle with a full clean UK driving licence

  • Information Advice and Guidance Qualification

  • Knowledge of MS packages
