We are looking for a versatile individual to join our Finance/Accounting team. As a key member of our VAT team, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented group of professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional results.

As a VAT Compliance Assistant Analyst, you'll be responsible for providing a transaction processing service to one or a number of clients, delivering specialist services which involve the choice and application of diverse processes, systems and techniques or for supervising staff delivering a broad range of services. You'll need to be technically savvy, comfortable working in a high-pressured environment, and possess excellent time management skills.

This is a hybrid working role with the requirement to attend the Leeds office once a month.

What you'll be doing:

  • Management of multidimensional processes and assignments to completion, with the competence to learn complicated, often subjective VAT rules, including Contracted Out Services for NHS Organisations and communicating information in an appropriate manner to collaborators.

  • Working with the VAT team to deliver VAT returns to meet client expectations and service delivery.

  • Support the VAT team with TEST file analysis and Query workbook resolutions.

  • Be responsible for monthly VAT Adjustment Journal uploads and posting the Journals into the Oracle ledgers.

  • Reviewing and sending client VAT Returns within deadlines.

  • Keeping up to date with current HMRC regulations, including Contracted Out Services.


  • What you'll bring:
  • Proven working background with data analysis.

  • Advanced level Excel skills and experience of analysis large and sophisticated data sets.

  • Possess excellent communication skills - verbal and written.

  • Be able to work independently and ask for assistance and clarification when required.

  • Experience of dealing with a client service facing environment.

  • A keen learning desire.


  • It would be great if you had:
  • AAT qualification or studying towards.

  • Previous VAT or NHS VAT experience, specifically the contracted-out services HMRC guidelines.

  • Experience with Oracle.
