Full Job Description

VAS works to create a Sheffield where everyone can achieve their potential by supporting people and communities to lead positive change. The purpose of this role is to work in partnership with VCFSE organisations to lead on and develop culturally appropriate and inclusive support systems for frontline staff working in the city. Building on the work already established by the team, you will engage with organisations to explore and assist in the delivery options for providing support and support the evaluation and learning from this work. We aim to enhance frontline worker wellbeing through a structured approach that not only develops support systems, but also increases the knowledge base and expertise within the VCFSE around frontline worker wellbeing and culturally responsive practices. Internal liaisons: VCS Workforce Development Lead, VCS Support manager, VCS Support administrator, Volunteer Centre Coordinator, Head of Volunteering, Engagement and Equality Lead and all other VAS teams of staff and volunteers. External liaisons: Voluntary and community sector leaders, staff and volunteers, SYFAB, Funding organisations, VCS Support organisations, Sheffield City Council Locality Team, Community Services Managers, Sheffield Social Enterprise Network, Sheffield City Council Safeguarding Boards, Commissioning leads from Sheffield City Council and Workforce development staff from SY ICB (NHS) Main Tasks

  • Project manage the work with a focus on engagement, co-production and delivery with a range of voluntary organisations to understand workforce development and organisational needs, demand and identify areas of focus.
  • Provide a first point of contact for organisations looking to develop appropriate support systems and collaborate to assess their strengths and identify areas and systems for frontline worker support.
  • Co-produce and deliver workshops and events as appropriate to support workforce and organisational development.
  • Network and build partnerships with community organisations to promote the work of VAS and infrastructure support partners.
  • Compile data and provide information for evaluation of work and any other monitoring reports.
  • Curate and share relevant, accessible and up-to-date information, resources and case studies for the VAS website, social media channels, external communications and formal reports.
  • Ensure all services are properly monitored, evaluated, recorded and quality assured in accordance with VAS policies and procedures and quality systems.
  • Undertake relevant training and other CPD opportunities to develop skills as appropriate.
  • Work flexibly to meet the needs of role, including evening and occasional weekend work, for which time off in lieu will be given.
