We have opportunities to join our Junction 24 Vehicle Presentation Team (VPT) as a Cleaner. The main scope of the role is to make sure the quality of cleanliness of the vehicle fleet is maintained by ensuring that all cleaning and associated work is completed within the specified period and meets the Company standards. This will ensure we consistently deliver a great service every day, exceeding passenger expectations and ensuring the passengers receive a safe and reliable and clean service. Somerset Passenger Solutions was formed to serve the passenger transport needs of the largest construction project in Europe - Hinkley Point C. We transport thousands of clients to and from the site every day, working 24/7 making sure that construction remains on schedule.   • To comply with your responsibilities of the Health and Safety Policy, at all times
  • To undertake cleaning and associated work to the required standards/targets, ensuring the optimum appearance and cleanliness of vehicles.
  • Vehicle cleaning to include all Internal cleaning as required including Fogging and Deep Cleaning.
  • To record details of all work done and accurately complete any necessary paperwork.
  • To minimise wastage by ensuring the correct use - along with the safe and secure storage - of all materials and equipment.
  • To work in a clean and tidy manner by ensuring debris is not left for others to clean up and that equipment is in a clean and proper state at the end of each shift and is returned to the appropriate storage place.
  • To ensure, so as not to adversely affect any cleaning schedule/programme, that lost, defective or inoperative equipment is reported immediately to your Supervisor.
  • To ensure that any graffiti which cannot be removed by the appropriate initial effort is reported daily, along with any damaged seat frames, damaged or missing seat cushions and any exterior damage to your Supervisor.
  • To fully comply with all HSE legislation along with SPS and HPC policies.
  • To fully comply with all relevant Engineering procedures.
  • To be a team player at all times and communicate effectively with colleagues and managers.
  • To ensure training is completed to be able to make full use of all company required equipment, such as Fogging Machines and cleaning products, to be able to maintain the high standard of cleanliness that is expected.

  • To ensure adherence to all Somerset Passenger Solutions policies and procedures at all times.
  • To undertake any reasonable request made by the Company.
  • It is a requirement of this post that the individual passes the BPSS vetting and badging process.
  • Requirements to carry out duties at any location where requested
  • Able to proactively liaise with colleagues based at other locations
  • To undertake any additional duties at the request of your Supervisor that are deemed to be within your competency
  • To adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
  • To undertake any training and development activities at the request of your Supervisor.
  • To take care of your own safety and the safety of others at all times by complying with the Injury Prevention Principles and UK Bus Health & Safety Policy at all times.
  • Always represent the company in a professional manner.
  • To ensure compliance with the requirements of the environmental management manual at depot level.
  • To report incidents and complaints to the VPT Lead.
  • To report immediately, to the VPT lead, any leak, unauthorised or accidental discharge or any other hazards to the environment.
