Full Job Description

We are looking for a Vendor Manager to support value delivery to the business through effective vendor management, ensuring high-quality service, cost efficiency/management, and strong vendor relationships. This role involves managing purchase orders (POs), monitoring vendor performance, and collaborating closely with the Senior Manager, IT Procurement Manager and Senior Buyer.   • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key IT vendors to ensure high-quality service and support.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for vendor-related issues and escalations.
  • Purchase Order Management
  • Overseeing the creation, tracking, and management of POs to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Working closely with the procurement team to streamline PO processes and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Contract Management
  • Assisting in negotiating and managing vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Collaborating with the legal team to finalise supplier contracts using company templates.
  • Performance Monitoring
  • Monitoring vendor performance against agreed service levels and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Addressing any issues or discrepancies in vendor performance promptly.
  • Cost Management
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring that procurement activities are within budget.
  • Collaborating with the finance team and stakeholders to track and manage budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Working with the procurement team to achieve cost reduction targets and maintain financial discipline.
  • Risk Management
  • Identifying and mitigating risks associated with vendor relationships and procurement activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies
  • Reporting
  • Preparing regular reports on vendor performance, procurement activities, and cost savings for senior management.
  • Providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Collaboration
  • Working closely with the IT Procurement Manager and Senior Buyer to align vendor management strategies with overall procurement goals.
  • Supporting cross-functional teams in achieving procurement objectives.

    Degree Level in any related field is advantageous e.g. Supply Chain Management, STEM fields
  • CIPS Level 4+ (or working towards) advantageous
  • Strong Financial Awareness and experience of working within and influencing others to work within budgets and cash flow requirements
  • Experience developing executing category plans with support from management
  • Prior supplier negotiation and contract management experience
  • Knowledge of commercial levers to influence procurement spend
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships quickly with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of tendering principles and best practice
  • Awareness of Contracts and Contractual terms from a procurement point of view
  • Ability to articulate contract terms and conditions to various audiences
  • Awareness of financial accounting principles for cash flow, savings recognition and OPEX/CAPEX
  • Analytical skills with advanced knowledge of excel and MS Office
  • Previous accountability for delivering procurement savings targets would be advantageous
  • Experience within the logistics or retail industry preferable would be advantageous
