Full Job Description

We have a special Veterinary Care Assistant position open that could lead to a funded Veterinary Student Nurse Position for the right candidate. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to join the veterinary profession in a supportive, fully accredited training practice. We are a busy general practice seeing equal measure of cats, dogs, rabbits/small furries. Many of our clients are longstanding and expect special, individualised care for their pets. Our team of veterinarians, nurses and veterinary care assistants are dedicated to helping clients care for their pets as cherished furry family members. You will assist all colleagues with non-clinical duties to support smooth running of the practice and provide excellent patient care. There will be significant front of house responsibilities in the initial phase of training and then as a supporting role for client care. After a successful initial probation period we are committed to funding a Veterinary Care Assistant training course. This provides a great first step into the veterinary profession and a broad foundation for progressing into veterinary nursing.

  • You are friendly and welcoming to clients and their pets when they arrive at the practice. You have a friendly, and polite phone manner, attending to the callers concerns, needs.
  • Your personality is easy going working with a team, with a good sense of humour and can work well under pressure.
  • You have achieved a minimum GCSE Score of: C/4 Standard Pass or better on Maths, English, Science GCSE's
  • You are ready to take on the challenge of learning new skills and translating learning into practice working in the clinic.
  • You will bring enthusiasm and drive to your role. Your passion for service is matched with your love of pets.

    This is a full time role working 40 hours per week with no Saturdays and Sundays, out of hours or on call. Salary is minimum wage.
