Full Job Description

If you are an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for somewhere that you want to feel appreciated and part of a team or you are wanting to regain your passion for the career you spent so long training for, or just looking for a modern forward-thinking practice then Nottingham Chilwell are your match!

  • An experienced veterinary surgeon
  • Passion for small animal general practice
  • Enjoys working up interesting cases
  • Enjoys providing pet care advise to owners during preventative healthcare appointments
  • Good team member that works well with other vets and Veterinary nurses
  • Certificate funding will be considered
  • Full & Part-time hours considered

We are a gold ISFM practice and a silver RWAF practice, we were awarded an ACE award (Aspiring clinical excellence) from Vets for Pets also. We have exotic certificate holders and see a varied case load. We also dip our toe into a bit of acupuncture, and we are a fear free practice.
  • We look after our staff and genuinely care; staff wellbeing is our thing. We had a personal trainer last year for the whole team which was great fun! We are always looking for novel ways to support our staff wellbeing and create a relaxed atmosphere, so ideas are always welcomed. Our location is great, we are 20 minutes away from Nottingham and Derby city centre and close enough to enjoy the outdoors of the peak district. Attenborough nature reserve is on our doorstep and there is also lots of retail therapy. Rail and Air travel is also close by. We like to have plenty of socials, this could be out for meal one week or swimming in lakes the next! We like to go on CPD events together which usually incurs a shopping trip!, Pets just see people. They aren't biased and they don't discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don't perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!

Full-time hours would be 9am - 6pm 4 days a week with one day off a week & 1 in 3 Saturday mornings 9am - 12pm. The team work together to ensure that we leave on time and little over time is required (any over time is paid). We are also able to consider part time candidates. Our benefits for you:
  • A competitive salary (DOE/FTE)
  • Weekly fruit basket
  • 20% off at Pets at Home and the Vet Group
  • 2 pets vaccinated yearly (free of charge to you!)
  • Staff wellbeing events
  • Group CPDS
  • 1 week extra holiday after 2 years' service
