Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen at our small animal practice in South Shields Quays Vets for Pets for an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and welcoming team.
The practice is located inside Pets at Home in the centre of town within walking distance to the beautiful coast. Main transport links are nearby and convenient access to the A19 and A1.
The surgery is purpose built and fully equipped allowing excellent clinical care to be achieved. You would be joining a team of 2 Vets, 1 nurse, 2 Student nurses, 1 Veterinary Care Assistant, 1 Practice Manager & 4 Client Care Advisors.
Work/life balance is taken seriously at South Shields Quays as we think a happier team is a better performing team, our diary is managed to a level where our vets don't feel overloaded and the support from our nursing team certainly makes work a pleasant experience for all involved.
Our surgery is purpose built to deliver the highest clinical standards and provides excellent facilities including internal laboratory stations, ultrasound, and radiograph diagnostic imaging. Giving you access to all the equipment and space you need to care for your patients.
We already have a loyal client base with the potential for further growth, and cases can be worked up locally giving you the opportunity to develop any specific interests you have, with certification encouraged and fully funded. We're also keen to learn new things from you, so if you have previously done CPD, we want to hear all about it! We're always open to trialling new ideas and work closely together with the aim of providing the best care for our patients and a great client experience from phone call to consult.
This is a part time role working 20 hours per week, 1 in 3 Saturdays, no OOH or Sunday shifts.
Pets just see people. They aren't biased and they don't discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don't perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
As well as a career path built for you and a salary up to £60,000 FTE with a £5,000 relocation/welcome bonus, we offer all the benefits you'd expect from a major employer (pension, healthcare, paid memberships etc.) plus a few more, such as development opportunities and exclusive lifestyle and shopping discounts (up to 30% off at Pets at Home).
We're also happy to provide relocation packages from within or outside the UK, including visa sponsorship if needed (we're an A+ rated sponsor).
If you share our passion for delivering outstanding pet healthcare and great customer service, then we would love to hear from you!
