Full Job Description
"We want our team to flourish, as not only does it leave them fulfilled, but it benefits the practice and clients, too. If they have a specific niche or talent, we will nurture that talent as well as encourage new skills."
Having recently taken on the ownership of Swindon Bridgemead Vets for Pets, Ana and Karen are now looking for a passionate veterinary surgeon to join our growing team. Each member of the team was nominated for the Pet Plan Awards this year and with our Head Receptionist Hayley having been with the practice since day one and receiving a steady stream of compliments from our clients, you'll be in safe hands! You'll be working alongside Ana (MRCVS) who originally graduated from veterinary school in her native Spain in 2008 and came to the UK in 2010. As well as an interest in ultrasonography and internal medicine, has 15 years' experience, 3 of which are in referral. Good mental health is very important to us, and we understand that wellbeing and a good work life balance should come first so we are offering this role with a genuinely flexible rota. That means that if you're looking for school time hours only, or maybe fewer days but longer shifts or something slightly different, we'll be happy to consider your requirements. There are no OOH with this role and currently, no weekends either! We also make sure we have a clear diary structure with 15-minute consults as standard. It's important to us that our team feels included in decision making so we also hold a weekly huddle with time to share thoughts and ideas. In joining our team and supporting a great community and client base, we are looking for a colleague with solid GP experience, a team player with great communication skills and someone that shares our passion for providing the highest level of veterinary care. A surgical bias would also be desirable but is not essential.
Pets just see people. They aren't biased and they don't discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don't perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
In return we can provide a supportive and welcoming environment, in addition to:
- Salary up to £55,000 FTE, commensurate with experience
- 5.6 weeks holiday including bank holidays, (increasing after 2 years' service)
- Private Health Care
- Life Assurance 4 x Annual Salary
- Contributory Pension Scheme
- Paid memberships (RCVS, BVA, VDS)
- Dedicated CPD allowance
- Funding and support towards Certificates available
- Career progression
- No OOH
- Relocation allowance
- Fully funded Sponsorship/Visa
- Cycle to work scheme
- Access to Colleague Assistance Programmes - Retail Trust, Port of Call and MHFA
- Exclusive company discounts and rewards - including 20% off at Pets at Home, The Groom Room and Vet Group Swindon is ideally located just minutes from the M4, has regular train links to London and other larger cities in the UK, as well as being just a short drive away from the scenic Cotswolds.
