Full Job Description
We have exciting plans to grow our modern and busy practice in the riverside town of Maidstone, so if you're a forward thinking, experienced Vet looking for a new role where you can bring your ideas to life, we could have the perfect position for you!
Maidstone Vets4Pets is a standalone practice offering you the environment, caseload and equipment needed to utilise the skills you have gained to date whilst also giving you plenty of opportunity to develop further, with support for postgraduate qualifications, CPD and training in your areas of interest.
You'll be joining a talented and friendly clinical team as well as a fantastic supportive non-clinical team. Growing, developing and retaining talent within our team is really important to us, with multiple colleagues with 10-18 years' service with us and our CCA team working towards BVRA accreditation! We hold a variety of interests within our clinical team too with 2 of our vets already holding certificates in medicine and surgery. If you have a particular interest in surgery or diagnostic imaging that would be wonderful, but not essential.
We see a wide variety of cases in the practice and carry out all routine surgery as well as soft tissue and some basic orthopaedics. We have all of the usual toys including digital X-ray and ultrasound, and we will certainly consider the purchase of further specialist equipment should it benefit the team and practice.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon (3+ years qualified) to help build and shape our surgery with the support and guidance of an experienced industry network. You will need to be confident with all routine surgical and medical cases but perhaps most importantly, you will be a personable and approachable vet who enjoys building relationships with our lovely patients, clients and the wider team.
This position can be fully flexible hours, full or part time, with 1 in 3 weekends on a fair rota basis, although this can be discussed for the right candidate. There is minimal sole charge and no OOHs responsibility ensuring both a great work/life balance and the opportunity to bounce ideas around with colleagues.
As well as a career path built for you and a salary of up to £65,000 dependant on experience, we offer all the benefits you'd expect from a major employer plus a few more, such as excellent career progression and exclusive lifestyle and shopping discounts (up to 20% off at Pets at Home). We're also happy to provide relocation packages from within or outside the UK, including visa sponsorship if wanted (we're an A+ rated sponsor).
