Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen at our small animal practice in Hemel Hempstead Companion Care for an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and welcoming team. Based on the busy Daventry Retail Park in the Pets at Home store, we can offer a fantastic location to work, as well as having all the usual equipment and plenty of onsite parking. You will be joining an existing team of 3 vets, 2 nurses, 2 student nurses, 1 VCA and 2 receptionists. We are a busy first opinion practice which would give you the opportunity to see a range of interesting cases and take them as far as you possible for you. As a team we enjoy case discussions which contribute to broadening horizons for all. This is a fast-moving environment where team support is always available and any level of experience would be considered. This would be ideal for both an experienced vet looking for quality of life or someone looking to broaden their knowledge with support available where needed. This a full-time position (40 hours) with a flexible working pattern, 4 day weeks, a shared weekend rota of 1 in 4 Saturdays and Sundays with 3 days off following any weekend rota shift as well as one 3 day weekend per shift rotation.

Sharing our passion and commitment for high standards, will ensure you thrive within this role. With a confident and capable approach, the team would love someone who could bring new ideas and ambition to the team, as they are always looking for ways to improve and grow. As a Practice we are inclusive, embracing a supportive and non-judgement environment.

Pets just see people. They aren't biased and they don't discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don't perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
