Full Job Description

This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, and will include 1 in 3 Saturdays 9am to 3:30pm on a rota basis, but no Sundays, OOH or Bank holidays. However, we understand everyone is different so if you are looking for part time hours we would still like to speak with you and see what we can do! We are looking for a proactive Veterinary Surgeon with solid medical and surgical skills. Key to your success will be your ability to embrace all aspects of the role, delivering excellent patient and client care. However we are hoping you will have a passion for surgery, ideally you will hold a certificate or you will be willing to work towards one. You will be working alongside a clinical team of 6 vets and 6 RVNs and will need to be a strong team player who is adaptable and flexible. This role offers the real opportunity for someone driven looking to push our service to the next level with us

We are an established standalone practice, close to a great selection of local amenities including Newcastle upon Tyne along with the great Northumbrian coast. Those more adventurous Cumbria and the lakes are 90min away. It's just a great place to be! We are very much focused on the team and can provide a generous CPD allowance and plenty of support. The surgery has a full complement of modern equipment including orthopaedic, Dental x-ray, Endoscope, Full IDEXX suit and referral level scanner. This is a great opportunity to support the continued growth and development of a business dedicated to our clients and their pets. Within 12months we expect to be refurbished to a very high standard that you can expect a modern veterinary practice to be., Pets just see people. They aren't biased and they don't discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don't perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!

  • Fantastic salary up to £80,000 depending on your experience and qualifications (FTE)
  • No OOH, Sundays or Bank holidays - offering you a great work life balance!
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • CPD allowance and support provided
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, VDS, etc.)
  • Uniform provided
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards including 20% off at Vets4Pets, Pets at Home and the Groom Room
  • If you share our passion for delivering outstanding pet healthcare and great customer service and would like to join our team, we would love to hear from you.
