Full Job Description

Speak to Jim Dixon from our recruitment team who would be happy to help you with any questions you have before ing for this role.

Aran Vet Clinic has an exciting opportunity for a Vet Surgeon to join their team. We are a vibrant and friendly small animal practice in the market town of Llangefni, on the island of Anglesey. We provide a good standard of first opinion care with support from visiting specialists when needed. The role will involve a mix of consulting and operating with 2 operating days per week undertaking a good mix of routine neutering, mass removals, wound management, urgent surgeries (enterotomy, pyometra, splenectomy etc.) diagnostic work ups, dentistry and care of hospitalised in-patients. Our out of hours care is provided by Vets Now so this role does not include any night or weekend emergency work., Aran Vet Clinic is a modern practice in Llangefni, in the middle of the beautiful Isle of Anglesey a well known holiday destination with glorious beaches and access to the mountains and scenery of Snowdonia. Our team are often found swimming in the sea and lakes, running over the mountains, or simply enjoying a dog walk on the beach. There are excellent road and rail links to the rest of the country and Holyhead port for ferries to Ireland is only 20 minutes away If city life is more your scene, we're only a few hours from Liverpool and Manchester.

This is a full-time role, but we are happy to talk to vets wanting fewer hours or a more flexible working pattern as we understand work life balance is key to a happy team. Our full-time rota consists of working up to 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days with some evening work until 7pm. You will also be required to work your share of the Saturday rota, currently 1 in 4, working from 8:30am - 12pm., Our fantastic team is made up of 5 vets, 5 registered veterinary nurses, and 6 animal nursing assistants/receptionists, who all work a mix of hours to suit their lives away from the practice. We have a stable team with many having been with us for over ten years, our close-knit atmosphere is the best thing about our practice and we're looking for someone who will fit in well and enjoy working alongside us. While more recent graduates are welcome to , some experience would be preferred for this role as it will involve being the only vet on site for evenings and Saturday mornings.Because our people matter! We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from -Work-life balance
