Full Job Description

The work of the People Operations - People Services Teams, based in Epsom, Surrey, are key to supporting the business, line managers and employees in all things HR Services. These teams deliver the HR Service with passion and commitment, providing a consistently great customer experience, making sure services are delivered optimally and within agreed SLA's whilst meeting all policy and compliance requirements.

The People Services Teams include responsibility for employee and candidate vetting - ensuring employees and candidates are vetted to allow them to be mobilised on to projects.

The Vetting Advisor will provide a comprehensive case management service within the Security Vetting Team - identifying, investigating and assessing suitability of vetting applications.

The role focuses on providing a high-level of customer service, advising and guiding the business, candidates and clients on the end-to-end vetting process alongside administrative vetting tasks, training of new members to the team and vetting aftercare.,

  • Deliver end to end clearance application process for major projects and individual clearance applications.

  • Action aftercare requirements.

  • Build long lasting and trustworthy working relationships with our business key security personnel.

  • Build excellent working relationships with HR teams, employees, and the People Hub team in Bangalore.

  • Provide professional advice across a broad range of vetting related topics. Taking ownership of queries within BAU.

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert in multiple vetting process areas and support process delivery standards.

  • Respond to complex queries, to support resolution of cases from managers and employees in line with governance requirements and service SLAs.

  • Ensure current statutory and legislative requirements are being complied with.

  • Use the case management and systems to record and maintain accurate records about activities and tasks undertaken and update vetting applications as required.

  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external auditing requirements.

  • Advise the team of changes to policies as per business alignment.

  • Identify areas of improvement and support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Act as a mentor to current and new team members. Ensuring new team members are inducted into the team with a comprehensive training plan.

    Experience of working within the vetting Industry and vetting lifecycle.

  • Strong administration experience.

  • Strong customer service skills including effective use of the case management system.

  • An ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines with limited supervision.

  • A professional manner and the ability to develop strong working relationships.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Good organisational skills and ability to balance conflicting priorities.

  • Able to use own initiative and prioritise.

  • Flexible "can-do" attitude and approach.

  • Confidentiality and the ability to handle sensitive situations diplomatically.

  • Strong computer skills across the full range of Microsoft Office applications, in particular Excel, Word and the use of mail merge.
