Full Job Description

The BlackRock EMEA Investment and Portfolio Solutions (IPS) team works across all client channels, from iSW to ICB and GCR, to service BlackRock's clients in the region across a vast range of whole portfolio needs. From partnering with large CIO offices within the Private Banks space, to serving our Asset Manager clients across their Discretionary portfolio needs, to partnering with Pension Funds on evolving their portfolios and empowering Financial advisors to deliver better portfolio outcomes to their end clients: our team is organised to support peer-to-peer discussions, portfolio restricting proposals powered by Aladdin® and deliver BlackRock Model Portfolio Solutions (MPS) at scale. Within the broader team, the MPS Business Development team drives commercial growth of our franchise across the region - serving Home Offices, Financial Advisors and the Digital channel. The team is responsible for delivering across 4 main areas: i) Country and client segment strategy - Partner with Sales to define and execute against distribution priorities on a country and client segment basis. ii) Client origination and commercialisation - Be the platform specialist in the room, driving client opportunities and commercialisation once they're onboarded. iii) Thought leadership & MPS surround sound - Creation and coordination of content pipeline and activation, mobilising the firm to deliver extensive content surround sound to the MPS platform. iv) Business management and platform scale - Own business management processes for the MPS book of business and drive initiatives to enhance scale of the MPS platform infrastructure. The role of MPS business development lead will broadly be focussed on driving commercial growth in assigned regions. There is also an opportunity to be involved in strategic projects, key to long term growth and scale of EMEA models business. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded individual who wants to build their career in a rapidly growing, strategically important part of the BLK business., Country and client segment strategy:

  • Build relationships with Sales in assigned regions to become key partner to deliver MPS into their clients.
  • Partner with Sales to build commercial objectives and be responsible for delivering against these in assigned regions.
  • Client origination and commercialisation:
  • Partner with MASS and Sales in assigned regions to support in client engagement to drive adoption of MPS. Play the role of 'platform specialist'.
  • Work with RMs to drive activation efforts and maximise flows from MPS clients to ensure commercial targets are met.
  • Thought leadership and MPS surround sound:
  • Partner with Sales to understand client needs around MPS surround sound content and engage partners to drive content creation.
  • Partner with Marketing and MASS to design and execution of scaled distribution activities to accelerate client flows.

    4+ years' experience in Sales / Solutions / Product roles within investment management, consulting or investment banking
  • Experience in a client facing role preferred
  • Prior experience and knowledge EMEA Wealth market a plus
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills a must
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, essential. The successful candidate must have the confidence and credibility to persuasively interact with colleagues, management, and clients
  • CFA / FRM / CAIA certification highly desirable but not required
  • Strong understanding of portfolio construction processes, including drivers of return, risk control and portfolio construction techniques a plus
  • Ability to work efficiently and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
  • Fluent English is a prerequisite, fluency in other languages an advantage
