Full Job Description

Mastercard is seeking a highly motivated and experienced lawyer to manage complex, multi-million dollar antitrust and commercial litigation in the UK and multiple European countries. Based in London, and becoming a member of our global litigation team, you will play a critical role in shaping Mastercard's litigation and defense strategies, working closely with business and internal/external legal teams. Role

  • Thoughtful and strategic management of complex antitrust and commercial litigation (including class actions) in the UK, the EEA and some additional jurisdictions
  • Design and execute pan-jurisdictional strategies to manage existing and emerging litigation risks
  • Partner with global business, communications and legal colleagues on litigation issues
  • Represent the litigation team in cross functional discussions on a variety issues that could raise litigation risk, providing clear and concise advice
  • Effective supervision and direction of outside counsel and external experts on multiple matters, All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must:
  • Abide by Mastercard's security policies and practices;
  • Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed;

  • Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard's guidelines.

    8+ years post-qualification litigation experience
  • Experience managing complex antitrust and commercial litigation cases in the UK and across multiple EEA jurisdictions
  • Class action experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in particular an ability to explain complex and nuanced legal arguments and strategies to global stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with strong analytical skills and the ability to provide solution and action-oriented advice
