Full Job Description
The primary purpose of this role is to perform MtM and P&L reporting and reconciling activity within the FINOPS team and automation of various reporting/FINOPS tools. The role will involve performing varied aspects of reporting (e.g. MtM reports for monthly closing, daily/weekly/monthly P&L reporting, reconciliation of P&L between various systems) and developing automated tools and dashboards. As a Financial Analyst, your main missions would be:
- Preparing MtM Valuations and support Accounting teams in explaining P&L movements
- Prepare reconciliations between economic and accounting P&Ls
- Learn the key functions performed by Back Offices in the energy management sector.
- Develop quantitative and qualitative tools and models to help with financial analysis and business control.
- Automate manual processes / develop tools for reporting financial and operational performance for various audiences (including the FINOPS team, management team).
- Participation to end of Month closings in a joint effort with Finance (Accounting), Back office and Risk teams.
Quantitative and programmatic abilities. The desire for this skill set is due to the expectation that one understand and actively contribute to analysis and also due to the need to establish tools for such analysis. - Demonstrable track record in financial/business analysis and P&L reporting
- Commercial acumen and the ability to analyze a problem and expose it to senior management.
- Use market knowledge to understand and explain commercial activities and strategies.
- Measure and provide insights into commercial performance vs budgets/benchmarks. Soft skills:
- Ability to undertake duties and to assist others as appropriate.
- Ability to use initiative and identify potential improvements to improve the day-to-day process.
- Attention to detail.
- Willingness to take on tasks as directed by other members of the FINOPS team.
- Ownership & diligence; will ensure that routine tasks are completed to agreed timescales.
- Commercial acumen.
- Ability to work independently and cope with pressure and responsibility. Education and professional background:
- Preferably MSc equivalent in an analytically focussed discipline.
- To have exposure to Trading/ Finance/ Risk Management for a at least 1~2 years. Languages:
- Fluent in english is required.
