Full Job Description

Virus Production 2 is a restricted access department devoted to the manufacture of inactivated viral antigen used to make vaccines that are sold across the world. The role incorporates practical manufacturing operations, aseptic operations, and provides an opportunity to learn and develop numerous skills. This position is a fully site based position requiring 5 days per week in Pirbright. TASK & RESPONSIBILITES

  • Work in a team of shift technicians (2 teams of 3 operators each comprised of 1x Senior Technician and 2x Technicians) led by an area Supervisor.
  • Participate in the manufacture of bulk volumes of inactivated virus antigen fully respecting UK and company Biosafety, EHS, and GMP standards.
  • Perform cleaning, decontamination and steam sterilization of vessels and plant following SOPs.
  • Ensure department batch record documentation is filled out contemporaneously and in full compliance with GDP.
  • Manage department stock levels and ensure equipment is cleaned and autoclave sterilized.
  • Grade A/B clean room operations performing aseptic manufacturing.

    Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and carefully according to tight timelines.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Experience in industrial pharmaceutical production in a similarly regulated environment.
  • Good IT skills, preferably some experience of SAP/GBS.
  • Experience working in Graded GMP environments.
