Full Job Description

You will join us as a visiting lecturer to support our PE associate teachers across our undergraduate BA Secondary Physical Education with QTS and PGCE Physical Education courses.

The work involves teaching on ITE courses across Undergraduate and Postgraduate routes and providing professional development. You will work closely with colleagues in partner schools, when out observing trainees in their teaching practice, and you will establish and maintain links. Essential to your role is providing pastoral support to enable BCU students to thrive and become independent professionals who are proud to be part of Birmingham City University.

BCU have an opportunity for a visiting lecture to join our Secondary Physical Education team. You must be a secondary Physical Education specialist, having worked in secondary education teaching the Physical Education delivering the national curriculum. You must be able to evidence that you are a sound practitioner, highly motivated, well-organised and passionate about delivering exceptional evidence-based teaching., The work is hourly paid at a competitive rate and the working hours are flexible. You will also have opportunities to join staff for further development, sharing and CPD. You must hold a first degree in Physical Education and have QTS. Experience of teaching in Secondary schools is essential and prior experience of working in Initial Teacher Training or mentoring trainees on ITE courses is desirable.
