Stafford Borough and Cannock Chase District Councils operate a shared in-house legal service. The legal service is based at Stafford, but some travel to our Cannock office will be required as and when needed. We are currently recruiting for a Solicitor / Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive) with Planning Law Experience who can also provide general advice and support in other areas of local government law. This is a great opportunity to join a friendly and dedicated team of lawyers involved in a wide variety of legal work and focussed on providing excellent support to both of our Councils. The postholder will provide support across the Councils' functions, but with a particular focus on the provision of legal advice and support in town and country planning. The post would be suitable for a newly qualified solicitor / barrister or legal executive with relevant planning law experience. Experience in local government is desirable but not essential and so we would also welcome applications from individuals who possess the relevant skills and experience with a desire to expand that experience into local government work.,
