Full Job Description

The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is looking to recruit Visitor Services Assistants to work at least 300 hours per year across the Shakespeare Family Homes on an annualised hours contract.

As Visitor Services Assistant you will provide consistently high standards of visitor care at all times, from the moment of arrival through the entrance, exhibition, garden and house, to the final point of departure, ensuring every visitor has a safe and enjoyable experience.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience of working in a public or visitor facing role, agile and flexible to what is required, committed to providing excellent customer service, IT literate and able to confidently operate till and ticketing systems, and used to working as part of a team.

You will be positive and enthusiastic about working with the public. You will be a team-player, able to work alongside a range of colleagues at various locations. You will be proactive, self-motivated and adaptable with a good level of fitness due to long periods of standing. You will have a willingness to try new things and test different ways of working.

Your working hours will be 10.00am to 4.00pm in the winter season and 10.00am to 5.00pm in the summer season, and you will be required to work weekdays, weekends and a fair share of Bank Holidays so you should be flexible and available. There will also be a requirement to work out of hours events.
