(VMA) - Personal Assistant / Care Worker Required

Amy is Visually impaired (Blind) ,has a learning disability and cognitive difficulties relating to her condition (Juvenile Battens Disease). Amy is mobile albeit slowly with assistance and can communicate clearly. She has a keen interest in animals and some sports.

TASKS: To provide one to one support for Amy either in the home or external environments including activity centres, day clubs and general days out.

SKILLS: Patience is essential, ability to listen with a calm approach. Good personality and sense of humour and fun.

QUALIFICATIONS: NVQ 2 in health care is preferable but not essential , First Aid trained. Previous experience in a carer role or personal assistant is required.

EXPERIENCE: Has previously cared for someone that is visually impaired.
Exposure to learning difficulties.

Salary: £13.15 per hour

Clean Driving Licence Required.
