Full Job Description

As a Vocational Skills Tutor, you will connect directly with the brilliant pupils we care for, helping to make sure they get the very best from their education. Each individual has so much potential, and they will rely on you to guide their learning journeys. You will support students in the implementation of their individual life skills and key skills programme, with particular attention to ASDAN and Duke of Edinburgh activities. Supporting pupils with complex needs is important and rewarding work, and you will benefit from the tremendous support offered by our hugely experienced teams. As you help our pupils achieve real and significant progress, you will enjoy having a direct, positive impact on their developing lives. Key duties will include:

  • Develop and maintain a programme of vocational activities related to ASDAN and Duke of Edinburgh and manage that programme in an effective and proactive manner.
  • Prepare for daily events and ensure effective scheduling so that students have access to vocational activities.
  • Accurately record and report on student attendance at activities, ensuring any non-attendance is reported to the relevant person.
  • Identify and implement appropriate qualifications for students to undertake as required.
  • Attend, chair, and/or contribute to formal reviews and Person-Centred Planning meetings as required.

    You will be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to individual need. Taking a responsive and caring approach, you may be running classroom activities, leading outdoor experiences or supervising pupils as they explore further afield.

  • Salary: Up to £26,000.00 per annum (NOT pro-rata, pre-tax rake home salary)
  • Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
