Volunteer for your local Sight Loss Charity, The Blind and Sight Impaired Society (BASIS)
BASIS is looking for a wonderful new team of volunteers to support our services. If you would like to make a difference in the lives of vision impaired and blind people in Basildon and surrounding areas while giving back to a small local charity, then this is the role for you!
Our befriending service matches a sighted volunteer with a vision impaired person in order to provide vital companionship both over the telephone and face to face. Your work will be helping to reduce loneliness and isolation and helping a blind person to live the life they want to live.
If you have an hour a week to offer, you could give life changing support to a vision impaired person in the local community.
Full training is offered and all out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.
