Volunteer handyperson / maintenance volunteer

Are you a skilled handyperson, looking to support your local community? The John Jenkins Stadium, home of Pompey in the Community, are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic maintenance volunteers to assist them in various maintenance tasks in the brand new sports facility and community hub. You would be volunteering as part of the Pompey in the Community Team to ensure the John Jenkins Stadium is kept and maintained, ensuring it meets health and safety standards and that the stadium is welcoming and secure. Main responsibilities and duties might include:

• Undertaking health and safety checks and reporting issues to management
• Undertake repairs and general maintenance of our facilities
• Undertake some grounds work which could include weeding or grass cutting
• Sweeping out of changing rooms and other facilities as required
• Undertake basic repairs that do not require a specialised technician or worker
• Clean out rain gutters and drainage channels
• Support of computer system and storage where applicable
• You may be required to attend, from time to time, training, or meetings as required by their own
  
  Time commitment: based on your availability and as required
• Skills in basic practical tasks and maintenance work
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with other volunteers and staff.
• Physically fit to be able to lift and carry out light physical tasks
