Full Job Description

Delivering advice relating to benefits, debt and housing can alleviate stress and support better mental health. We want to increase access to advice and we can do this through volunteering but we want that experience to be welcoming, supportive and enabling. To do this we need a Volunteer Supervisor who can provide high quality training and supervision. The skills and experiences that are important to us are:

  • Advice experience in areas of benefits, debt and housing.
  • Working in a way that develops skills.

Volunteering has huge benefits both to individuals and to organisations. Good volunteering with excellent training and development opportunities has an even greater impact. Combine this with volunteer roles that enable people with mental health problems to better access their rights and entitlements in terms of benefits, debt and housing, at a time when that is so important and you have the opportunity to make a difference. To do this job you need good working experience of areas of social welfare law combined with experience of passing on your knowledge and supporting volunteers.
