Full Job Description

1. With support from the Trust Volunteer Services attract, recruit, train and induct a group of volunteers.

2. Organise training, ensuring that all mandatory requirements are met.

3. Establish good working relationships with internal teams to ensure smooth running of the service.

4. Liaise and establish good working relationship with Chaplaincy Team and Bereavement Services.

5. Provide regular contact and support to volunteers to ensure that their role is valued.

6. Attend relevant meetings, participate in discussions, and raise the profile of volunteers in supporting the work of Meadow House Hospice.

7. Link in with fundraising team/MHH fundraising Officer to support the delivery of fundraising events throughout the year.

8.Identify opportunities for volunteer team to support End of Life/Palliative Care services.

9.Ensure all volunteering activities meet with the Trust's service needs and are carried out in line with policies regarding health and safety, legal requirements, environmental, equal opportunity policies and general duty of care.

Meadow House Hospice is excited to announce the expansion of our palliative care service and consequently we are looking for a dedicated and committed Volunteer Team Leader to join us.

This is a newly designed role for the hospice, so it offers the opportunity for the post holder to be at the frontline of recruiting, training and developing a volunteer team that can support the way we deliver care to our patients.

We are looking for someone who is both committed and energetic but can also demonstrate strong and compassionate leadership. This role requires you to be skilled in collaborative working with a variety of healthcare professionals within the hospice, build relationships with Trust teams that would be integral to your work e.g., Fundraising and Volunteering services, have the capability to communicate with a varied audience and most importantly support the seamless integration of volunteers into our progressive service development agenda., If you are a motivated and have experience of managing teams or volunteers, we would love to hear from you.
