Join Hestia's Award winning Volunteering and Coproduction team. You will be supporting women, children and families who have experienced domestic abuse to rebuild their lives from crisis through recruiting and inducting volunteers.

Volunteers provide a lifeline for the families we work with by delivering family fun activities, events, supporting women and children to develop and grow their skills and support people to move on from Hestia's refuges.

You will be joining a team of individuals who work on various volunteering and coproduction projects, as team who are passionate, committed to supporting others and who enjoy working together as a team.

A day in this role looks like .

As a Volunteering Team Manager (Domestic Abuse Support) at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Volunteering Team.

Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.

A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do / be responsible for are :

  • Responsible for line managing volunteer coordinators supporting our domestic abuse service.

  • To coordinate, recruit and support volunteers in line with Hestia's recruitment through the line management of coordinators.

  • To collate and report on impact, insight and successes of volunteering programmes to our funders, partners and internally.

  • To coordinate celebration events, forums, opportunities for women across our Domestic abuse services involving partners, external partners and stakeholders.

  • To assist with the coordination of the renewal accreditation every 3 years of the Investors in Volunteering alongside the Head of Volunteering.

  • To ensure Hestia's recruitment, retention and support processes continues to meet the standards set out in the Investors in Volunteering Accreditation Programme.

  • Inspire and motivate Hestia's operational services to think creatively how volunteers can provide added value to their services.

  • Inspire and motivate our service users to volunteer.

  • To develop relationships and / or partnerships with external agencies and corporate businesses to offer opportunities for women and children across our domestic abuse services.

  • Collate volunteers' feedback and experiences of volunteering via our volunteer satisfaction survey.

  • To represent and promote Hestia and our volunteering opportunities within the wider community and sector.

  • Maintain accurate records and other administrative records in line with Hestia's reporting and monitoring of the Hestia Volunteering Programme.

  • Have knowledge of new legislation surrounding volunteering.

  • Carry out duties as reasonably required by the Volunteer Manager

  • Support our administrator to implement and embed new systems of managing volunteers data.

  • Excellent organisational and project management skills

  • Ability to deliver projects on time and in budget

  • Experience of writing reports

  • Ability to provide guidance and support to staff, volunteers, peers and service users in a professional and empowering way.

  • Experience of working in a team, providing appropriate professional advice and expertise to take projects from planning to completion.

  • Some experience of recruiting and / or supervising people and / or volunteers.

  • Ability to make engage with people in a friendly and warm manner is essential

  • Excellent IT knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access) and Outlook

  • Strong written and presentation skills

  • Good literacy, numeracy and evaluation skills

  • Good knowledge and awareness of cultural, social and health issues relevant to Hestia's service users and in particular from our Domestic Abuse Services.

  • Able to build relationships and work jointly with a range of external partners from statutory, voluntary and private sectors.

  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
