Full Job Description

The Trust's Surgical Business Unit Urology Team requires a dedicated, organised and highly proficient person to undertake the role of Waiting List Coordinator. This role is integral to supporting patients through their patient journey in a time efficient way, adhering to NHS RTT Pathways. The post holder works as part of a team, with autonomy, and as a conduit to their clinical and administrative teams managing and organising waiting lists and theatre utilisations and providing a comprehensive referral triage coordination within the Urology speciality. The post holder is also required to coach and mentor team members and support the Medical Lead Secretaries. Please note we reserve the right to close this vacancy prior to the closing date once the required number of suitable applications have been received · To act as a Waiting List Coordinator and Theatre Booking coordinator to a specialty team - Urology · Plan, allocate and supervise the waiting lists and theatres to ensure RTT and faster diagnosis adherence · Provide a comprehensive Referral Triage Coordination within the specialty · Book diagnostic lists within the specialty · Review/validate waiting lists in line with policy and process and escalate where applicable. · To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. Please read 'applicant guidance notes' before submitting your application. · Ensuring patients progress smoothly through the Urology Service will be a key part of the post holder's purpose. · Liaise with Medical Secretaries/Co-Ordinator's/Clinics regarding outstanding patient results/investigations/outcomes and track results/investigations through to completion · Acts as a role model to other staff with the Urology Team. · Negotiate booking options with patients for appointments and admission dates · Liaise closely with other Trusts regarding patient information and management. Establish good levels of communication / liaison with other hospitals and departments including, where appropriate, proactive utilisation of waiting lists, taking into account medical staff leave.

  • Responsible for ensuring that all clinical commitments (including ones held at other Trusts / Organization's) are reduced / cancelled when necessary
