If successful, you will be responsible for co-ordinating waiting lists in an efficient manner by liaising with consultants and other Admin teams to ensure waiting lists are accurate, well utilised and maintained to standard in line with the Trust's waiting times and the Trust's Patient Access Policy. · NHS IT Systems · NHS Waiting list experience/knowledge, Our staff oversee around 6,500 patient contacts every day, delivering high standards of healthcare from the following sites:

  • Freeman Hospital
  • Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI)
  • Health Innovation Neighbourhood (on the former Newcastle General Hospital and Centre for Ageing and Vitality site)
  • Newcastle Dental Hospital
  • Newcastle Fertility Centre
  • Northern Centre for Cancer Care, North Cumbria
  • Northern Genetics Service
  • Cramlington Manor Walks

  • Manage the admissions to maximise theatre use according to the wishes of the Consultant and their team.
  • Organise waiting lists to ensure that maximum waiting time targets are met whilst Patient Choice is not compromised.
  • Ensures patients TCI letter are forwarded to patients.

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 3 Waiting List Officer within the Family Health Board. If you are enthusiastic, organised and well-motivated we want you to join our newly established waiting list team. This is an ideal opportunity to showcase your skills in supporting Children's Services to achieve full theatre utilisation and excellent waiting list maintenance to provide a quality patient experience. This position requires excellent organisational and communication skills to ensure our 18 Week Waiting times are met. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience of working in a fast-paced environment to ensure robust and timely management of Waiting Lists for multiple specialities within Children's Services. You will work alongside a range of Consultants and Admin teams, therefore it is essential that you have the ability to build relationships and maintain a professional approach. If you have a pro-active approach, are a problem solver and your passion is support and put the patient's needs at the forefront, then this is the ideal role for you., · Knowledge of 18 Week pathways · Patient confidentiality · Good communication skills · Demonstrates problem solving skills · Highly motivated and able to motivate others · Patient Focused · Ability to meet deadlines You should be self-motivated, reliable and well organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Be able to demonstrate knowledge of waiting lists and be able to work efficiently and methodically with good attention to detail without direct supervision. The post holder should be flexible to the needs of the service with a positive and proactive attitude. The post holder will be required to have excellent communication skills, be able to prioritise workload effectively with excellent attention to detail. The role is fast paced and you must be able to deal with sensitive and contentious information
