Full Job Description

We are recruiting for 2 Waking Night Young People Support Workers based in Salisbury to work with Young People Leaving Care.

1 contract of 22.5 hours per week and 1 contract of 37.5 hours per week available.

The aim of this post is to support individuals and enable them to meet their basic needs and also assist, where appropriate and where possible, to break the cycle of homelessness.

Do you have the passion, empathy and energy to enable someone to change their life through your support and guidance? - Full training will be provided.

You must hold a full driving licence with access to a road worthy vehicle with business insurance.,

  • The aim of these posts are to support individuals and enable them to meet their basic needs.

  • To provide support and advice around accommodation, basic life skills, welfare benefits, health and personal issues.

  • To hold regular innovative activities by enabling a user led approach to managing the project.

  • Work with the service user to develop practical skill development.

  • Maintain administrative records in accordance with policies and procedures.

  • You should be confident when communicating with agencies and liaising with housing providers and signposting to other services., Alabaré are committed to ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all our service users, this includes developing, implementing and maintaining effective recruitment policies and procedures to promote the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Before commencing employment, the HR Department undertakes pre-employment checks on all applicants who have been offered a job with the Charity. These checks include an Enhanced DBS, which will be renewed every 3 years, the right to live and work in the UK, as well as two satisfactory references.

    A Willingness to learn

  • You must be currently resident in the UK

  • You must have the right to work in the UK

  • You must be confident working as part of a team and on your own

  • Excellent communication skills

  • You must be friendly and well-organised with an excellent work ethic

  • You must have a full driving licence and access to a road worthy vehicle with business insurance.

  • We require someone with a listening ear and willingness to see a task through to the end.

  • An understanding of when and where to signpost is essential.

    Benefits for a Waking Night Young People Support Worker choosing to work with Alabaré include:

  • Full time and Part time contract available- unsociable hours, hours arranged as part of the flexible rota including weekends and bank holidays to meet the needs of the service.

  • Full time annual salary, £23,634.00 rising to £23,965.50 after probation.

  • Additional enhancement payment for waking night of 10%

  • Hourly salary £12.12 rising to - £12.29 plus enhancement
